 Low Fat Braised Spring Chicken Recipe

 Low Fat Braised Spring Chicken Recipe Ingredients:
  • 2 Spring Chickens - Pre-Prepared
  • 4 Large Flat Mushrooms
  • 2 tsps.(teaspoons) chopped Fresh Thyme
  • 4 slices Lean Ham - without fat
  • Season well with Salt and Pepper
  • 150ml or ¼ pint Dry White Wine

 Low Fat Braised Spring Chicken Recipe Instructions & Tips:
  • Cut off the mushroom stalks and place the mushrooms in the bottom of a large casserole.
     

  • Sprinkle over the thyme. Lay the slices of ham over the mushrooms.
     

  • Place the spring chickens on top. Add salt, pepper and the white wine.
     

  • Cover and cook in the oven for about 1 hour. Uncover and continue cooking for 5 minutes.
     

  • Cut each spring chicken in half and serve on a bed of mushrooms and ham.
